The Lounge – Version 2

As a temporary measure, until the cleaners and renovators have come in to tidy and fix up the existing Lounge (which is in some disrepair), please come inside (or outside as the case may be), sit down, take a load off and relax for some off-topic conversation, a drink (or 2) and some canapes…  Version 2 comes with 2 options for posters…  Beachside or rooftop!!!

In keeping with Robbo’s original intent of The Lounge, any topic is up for discussion but it would be great if we could keep it respectful and avoid abusing one another.  One of my favourite past-times is agreeing to disagree with my wife, so I am more than happy to pass on some tips to anyone who would like them ;-) !!!

I am not a moderator or anything, but just wanted to help make things a little easier for people (with my limited technological skills) until Robbo’s return.

Cheers and enjoy,

Yoshi!!!

  3. Dear QCL – Wow, I am truly grateful for your input. Am of on an excursion to my local library this afternoon, am sure there will be some of your recommended. Many thanks. AV.

  4. Ahhh thats better.

Whats going on with the young woman from Logan? She was on her way to Maccas for work and was murdered? Half her uniform missing?
They said she had dark hair and was walking down Leichhardt St.
Can’t sleep tonight…………… nothing on telly.
I go to Google Earth Street View and see a young woman with dark hair lingering around the front of a house on that street. Looks like 26 Leichhardt.
No way, couldn’t be the same young woman would it?? No way – too much of a coincidence.

She was found on the front yard of a house “meters” from MacDonalds. Its hard to say, maybe she was attacked on the street and she was doing her best to run to someones house for safety?

Smells to me like it was someone local.

  5. no way; google earth is not up to date its not live up to 2yr old image’s.i think the FBI have the only tracking in existence.o prove a point google somebody u know and ask them to go out the front I did that that’s how I found out.it seems like a rape.by reports.sick basterds

  6. Chilling….

That young woman on street view is standing around the place where the murdered young womans clothes were found, and it was just across the street at the house with the “For Sale” signs where her body was found in the yard.
She was heading towards MacDonalds for work, but didn’t make it….
A closed off street like that,…… Culprit had to be a local, maybe even lives on Leichhardt St.

    • Street view isn’t live, theorist. I’m still visible (I remember that day the google car came by) in my street search, and that was 5 yrs ago.

      • That area of street view was dated 2011. I thought it may have been a stretch that it was the same woman from 2 years ago. It would have been a weird coincidence.

        • I see what you mean, sorry theorist. It certainly would be a coincidence if it was the same woman wouldn’t it? It’s only two years ago after all.

    • Sad story RB, and I was reading that the Lady was pregnant….why is the world getting worse ?, we hear of so many murders now….is it a lack of discipline now days…are the jails to lenient ?……I hate to think what it’s going to be like when my Grandchildren grow up….you’re not even allowed to smack your children now days.

      • Yes, jd. So much for progress and evolution. If you’re angry with someone, bash them. Doesn’t matter if the victim is young, elderly, male, female. Even police get bashed. If you want money, steal it. Want a car? Steal it. Swear at your teacher, parents, children. Rush, rush, rush. Money, money, money.
It’s very easy to become jaded, isn’t it?

  7. Desperate times calls for desperate measures.

Unfortunately we’re going to see a lot more to come.
    Just my feelings an opinion.

  8. The end of the world is nigh.

Just as Tony Abbott is to become the next Prime Minister, out goes the Carbon Tax and a whole swathe of other “Green” initiatives. The biggest fear of Politicians is to stuff the economy so bad that the country will turn into the likes of Greece or Spain or worse. Forget the planet, put more money into Business and the ultimate goal = jobs, or we are likely to destroy each other long before the planet becomes useless.
When people are out of work, the Devil makes use of idol hands as they say.
Take Central Logan for instance. There is no guessing why this area has the highest rate of Murder in QLD. But, if the economy stuffs up, there will be a lot more people out of work and going off the rails doing all sorts of nasty things, and not just people from Logan. Take GBC for instance. He was in a corner, debt up to the eyeballs, couldn’t see a future except by killing his wife. How many more “latent” GBC’s are there out there. “Normal” run of the mill businessmen, if they are put in the same position and become desperate, who knows what sort of shenanigans they would get up to. Everyday people who perhaps may be a little unhinged, but who are only keeping it together because life is reasonably good for them at the moment.
It is the economy that will always come first. Keeping the planet green will always lose out, just for the sake of keeping people sane and preventing ANARCHY.

    • Lots of loose cannons and time bombs just waiting to ‘go off’ like a frog in a sock. Sometimes I think there are more dangerous people outside of jail than in it. My neighbours, for one. They don’t have Rottweilers guarding their home for nothing!

  9. Leisl’s father contacted me wanting to speak on the phone, however that’s not my style – when I replied requesting the time of the text messages, I got a blank reply.

  10. The text time information came through the back door – out of respect for the family, I won’t write it up yet. Time to light some candles, team. I don’t have good news.

    • Oh no, not more candles.
(I would not have missed the birth of the foal for anything.)
She looks so vivacious, so full of life and hopes and expectations. So lovely.

      • I’m still hanging in on this one, team. Hopes are not dashed yet. Don’t worry RB I’ll hold the fort. Getting a location so close is a worry, but then that is not the end to it. It must be a terrible strain on the family.
Wish to heaven those in the know would give me the birth date of POI.

  11. Read your post-script, the whole area is not far from where I lived for years. My daughter told me about 3 years ago that about 13 years ago she was outside the house she shared with her partner at Buff Point, NSW. She had run out of fuel and had fuel cans at her feet and was about to walk to the servo when a neighbour up the road, who she knew by sight, offered to drive her to the servo at Budgewoi. There was another man in the car as well. The person she knew said he just had to check on something on the way first. He drove all the way to Kangy Angy and pulled up on the windy part of the Pacific hwy there (which is narrow and barely a place to park on the side of the road anyway but almost to Maitland Rd Kangy Angy – which is why some alarm bells just rang for me). My daughter started saying she didn’t like it (especially when you see how far from Buff Point he drove) and the other bloke in the car started saying things like “come on mate let’s just get her home” etc. He actually did drive her back but my daughter noticed there were lots of wallets and handbags in the bush on the side of the road there. She wishes now of course that she had rung the police but at the time she was just thankful to be home and alive. Bit of a coincidence eh? She doesn’t think she ever knew his name but perhaps she might remember the house that guy lived in at the time, might get to drive past there today actually. He might be an innocent but his behaviour on that day says otherwise. If nothing else he might be just a petty thief.

    • I’m sorry if I’ve brought back bad memories Ozmo. I have the names and addresses if you want them. POI is in the equestrian ‘maintenance’ business.

From what you’ve added, there’s obviously some seriously bad vibes that need clearing. Need a psychic to go out and clear it.

  12. To dear Ozmosis. You are very much loved here.
I am so glad your daughter is alive to tell the tale. Like JD, I got cold shivers when I read your post. Sounds awful ……and ….suspicious and all wrong. And nothing to do with getting fuel from the nearest Servo. Maitland Road, Kangy Angy eh?
    (((((Ozmosis)))))

  13. I am still amazed she never told me back when it happened. She would have been in her early 20′s at the time, she is 35 today. The way my mind works is that you don’t go that far away for nothing and if he had robbery or even, shudder, rape on his mind, there was no way he could have let her go as she knew him and where he lived. That’s the part that scares me most. Thank goodness the guy with him must have have known what he was up to and intervened. I have heard talk over the years that a lot of people plant pot plants in the bush in that area and “tend” to them. Of course all hear-say but the bushland is thick and almost on the doorstep of suburbia, so hidden but easy to get to. It is an easy walk to that area from Tuggerah station where Leisl’s car was found and Westfield Tuggerah is just up the road as well. I have parked close to that station at times when parking at Westfield was hard to get, especially leading up to Xmas, Father’s & Mother’s Days. It is anyone’s guess why Leisl parked at the station that day. I know Leisl which makes it all the more scary, thinking about what might have happened but I have maintained hope that she is still alive.

    • Gee, Ozmo, this is too close to home. How quickly and easily these things can happen. It’s interesting that your daughter didn’t mention it at the time. Maybe she didn’t want to worry you?

  14. Great news RB! I wonder if it’s the same guy who raped and bashed a 49-year old woman at Carseldine in the north of Brisbane on Thursday evening. CCTV seems to be instrumental in finding these animals.

    • Yes, SfA, there’s a lot to be said for CCTV. I know it’s an invasion of privacy etc but if it helps in keeping the community safe. . .. well. . ..

    • Well, well RB – that photo looks like Pistorius smashed the door so he could unlock the handle from the inside. If that’s the case, why did Reeva feel the need to lock the toilet door when she was in her boyfriends home?

  15. MM, I sent you a pm in Facebook, followed by a friend request. The PM will go to “other folders” as we aren’t FB “friends”.

  16. I think I saw that it has now been established the height and trajectory of the bullets in the door indicate he had his prosthetic legs on, the opposite to what he claimed.

    • Just horrible, moonlight. Such a different culture with honour killings still happening, and they do get away with it. Unbelievable.

  17. Doesn’t say much for the so called “men” of that culture, eh?
Seems like their entire thinking is twisted.
The so called “men”, of their own volition commit a crime of horrific nature.
The crime itself proves lack of male self control. The crime proves no respect for God and no respect for female human beings.
    The victim suffers the consequences.
The perpetrators of the crime get off free.
And the innocent victim is expected to be killed. Her family is then victimised.
    And they call that justice?

    • Dear QCL,

Kill the victim – then, who will be in trouble? No-one, perfect crime, perfect for sick, disgusting, scum of the earth people who do that, who can continue, with the family’s blessing.

How sick and brain washed can some aspects of some cultures within cultures be?

Really, I hope that people grab hold of this and talk about it.

What a wonderful little girl, so strong, I can’t believe how strong she is, with her family being strong, too.

      I commend them.

      • These filthy fetid animals that call themselves men demonstrate they have no respect for God. No respect for God’s ways and no understanding of human females. Either their purpose, psyche or physiology. Or even their capabilities.
God created women as a companion for man that he might not be lonely. It is because of woman, that procreation can occur. This is a sacred and holy trust.
The roles of women are many and varied. It is said, “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the nation.”
The roles, functions and capabilities of women should never be underestimated.
For the half witted perpetrators of this crime: A bit of education regarding God and His infinite wisdom might be order, plus some primary discipline for hating God and God’s laws and God’s beautiful creations so immorally and disgustingly.
Following all that, punishment for the crime itself should occur.
Some cultures including Australian aboriginals (before corruption) Law required that punishment was to be suitable for; or in accordance with; the crime committed.
In this case where rape has occurred, then the punishment the perpetrators should be they suffer accordingly. (That doesn’t mean normal sex.)
They, the perpetrators should seek restitution.
Should the family of the victim require that they be sentenced to death then so be it.
Castration would not be out of place either, in my opinion.
