Hit and Run…Witnesses needed…was he thrown

Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a man in Fawkner this afternoon.

It is believed a man jumped from a Sydney Road bridge and landed on the Western Ring Road about 3.40pm.

Investigators have been told a black VT or VX model Holden Commodore sedan travelling east bound just after the incident struck the man whilst he lay on the on the Western Ring Road.

The vehicle then fled the scene without stopping.

Major Collision Investigation unit members wish to speak with anyone who may have information about the incident or dark coloured sedan to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppers.com.au.

The deceased man is believed to be in his 30s.
